To sort the result-set in ascending or descending order in SQL, The ORDER BY keyword is used.
By default, the ORDER BY keyword sorts the records in ascending order.
Syntax
SELECT column1, column2, ...columnN FROM TABLE_NAME ORDER BY column1, column2, ...columnN;
Example-1
The subsequent statement would return all articles from the “Article” table, sorted ascending by the “Title” column.
SELECT * FROM Article ORDER BY Title;
Example-2
The subsequent statement would return all articles from the “Article” table, sorted ascending by the “ID” and the “Title” column. This means that it orders by Id, but if some rows have the same Id, it orders them by Title.
SELECT * FROM Article ORDER BY Id, Title;
